If you are unsure of next steps, how to help someone you know, or a client; nCourage is available for confidential consultations.

Tips on how to respond?

Listen to and take seriously any individual who discloses they are being abused or trafficked.
Offer to make the connection to nCourage.
Be non-judgmental.
Recognize the signs.
Allow for choice, meet them where they are at and on their terms.
Use trauma informed, client-centered, anti-oppressive practices.
Be mindful of your language, use their words.
With consent, contact nCourage and they can provide support and services.
Consult on a situation if you are not sure of next steps.
